devkeys - AccelNET device types
The DevType field
is used by the I/O manager software to determine what type of device is
to be serviced. At startup time after the database is loaded commands are
issued to build lists of I/O transactions. These lists are executed by the
I/O drivers to actually perform the I/O to the devices. They must be built
in different ways depending on the device to be serviced.
For example, each
time the KSC3516 module is accessed to read data from it a command must
be sent to set a pointer in the module before the data is read. The data
is then read from the module by sending the same CAMAC command 32 times
to read each channel in the module.
